In 2005 the lights will be turned on by the Irish pop group Westlife. Westlife will perform two songs: "You raise me up" and "World of our own". There will also be performances from contestants from the TV series The X Factor. Heart 106.2 presenters Jamie Theakston, Harriet Scott and Toby Anstis will host the event. The stage will be set up outside Debenhams on Oxford Street (the road will be closed to traffic between Vere Street and Stratford Place from 4pm to 8pm). The event starts at about 5pm, and the lights will be lit at about 6pm. The lights will lit daily during the hours of darkness from now until 6th January.
