请问具备什么条件可以申请PR啊？要在这里呆多少年？这些年是一直要是学生身份，还是合法身份就可以呀？谢谢！

work permit or HSMP holder: 5 years
student or other valid visa holder: 10 years (might be changed soon)
illegal stay: 14 years (again, might be changed very soon)

don't think the rules for these two are going to change since the rules have been changed 7 years ago.. well, nothing we can do if they can not even last longer than 7 years..

学生在英国10年即可换PR的政策已经废除, 从4月3日起, 只有WP和HSMP签证HOLDER可以有资格在5年后申请PR.其他签证都不可以.

where did you get the information about that? R u sure 10 years rule has been chaged? all i know is from 3rd April the wP holders can apply for PR after 5 years instead of 4 years.

如果根據“T3 低技能人士和 T4 学生将无权申请永久居”作出如題判斷，那麽請注意原來的法律中也明文規定了學生身份不能申請永久居留，十年和十四年長期居留申請永久居留和結婚居留，同居居留，工作居留等等不屬於同一範圍（SCOPE）。

r u saying that as long as the point based system (T3 低技能人士和 T4 学生将无权申请永久居)still not applied, the ten years rule still be possible?
