Make an appointment with your GP first, if you are shy, ask for a female doctor, you might need to wait a little bit longer for a female doc though, depends how urgent the issue is.

Tell the doctor that you are considering to take birth control pill. He/She would ask you questions about your health, also ask you if you are on any kind of medication. If everything is fine, he would give you prescription and leaflet for the pills.

Go to any pharmacy (e.g. Boots) to get it. You don't need to pay for it, it's free.
