Dear Andrew （or xxx),

We read the BBC news.

We deeply appreciate your words regarding the truth of home office's unfair policy.

This is a letter not only signed by current work permit holders and HSMPs, but also by people who support this campaign, including british locals citizens and migrant citizens, professionals and international students.

If Law approved Home Office retrospectively applying changing policies in this case, it means they can do it repeatedly whenever they want. Then the past policies are nothing but trick and trap. Migrants would have to reconsider whether to live, to work, and to do contribution in a country where migrants’ human rights are not protected by law.

Mr Coaker, the minister of Home Office, said:"The vast majority of people who have come in under the highly skilled migrant programme we expect to pass the further tests. We don't expect it to impact on very many."

So what about those who being affected? Illegal is illegal. It would never be approved as legal just because it applies on a tiny portion of people. Please imagine what if Nazi said "The vast majority of people who are not Jews we expect to survive the slaughter. We don't expect to kill very many."

A Home Office spokesman said: "The changes were needed to ensure that tougher checks on foreign workers are carried out both here and abroad to guard against the risk of abuse （excuse us, would he mind to explain what 'abused' by foreign workers?) and make sure those on HSMP visas are actually doing highly skilled work."

We are very regretting to see Home Office keeps making excuse for their fault. Losing control on immigration system is a result of the poor management ability of the government. However, migrants have to act as victim and be punished although they did nothing wrong. Home Office is abusing the human rights of migrants. It is abusing their “unconstrained power”.

When migrants started careers in the UK, they thought they were working in a country of faith and fairness. Unfortunately, the behaviors of Home Office have damaged the creditability of this government.

We do not wish to tell our children the story one day as: “you can never trust what Home Office says, because they would break their promises whenever they want; it was the most wrong decision your father/mother ever made that to live and work in the UK.”

Thanks for your justicial voice for the people who are not entitled to vote. That makes us feeling that there is still a chance of ‘human rights’ for migrants in this democratic country. All the people listed their names below are by your side being in the right. We understand it may take time to obtain justice, but we would never give up.
