from eastglam @ Yahoo Answers
Biscuits (cookies) like Shortbread, anything from Marks and Spencer, trinkets with a Union Jack on it, model of a London bus. Why not try something different and take back a set of commemmorative or special stamps in a presentation pack available at most post offices and certainly in the philatelic shop in the PO in Trafalgar Square, or a set of current coins in a presentation pack. If you are in London go to the Bank of Englland in Threadneedle Street and buy a few sets there.
Anything from Harrods or Fortnum and Masons (the Royal grocers), Liberty's, or the Army and Navy stores - or with their logo on it. Tea of course is a typically British thing to give as smal gifts.
Toby jugs, quality dolls as Beefeaters, a collection of post cards with typical scenes on them.
T-shirts with a Union Jack motif.
If you visit a National Trust site they have some nice gifts and collectables although they are not that cheap.
if you are travelling to other parts of Great Britain say Wales then a Welsh Love Spoon is the perfect gift to take back with you.
Look at the sites below for some examples.
But you will be lost for choice of inexpensive trinkets, souvenirs etc when you get there.
