DLR services will be unaffected by the RMT Tube Lines action.
ISSUE
Around 1,000 members of London Underground’s biggest union working for the privatised Tube Lines infrastructure consortium are to mount two 72-hour strikes after voting overwhelmingly for action over pay and conditions. RMT members at the company will stop work between noon on Wednesday August 20 and noon on Saturday August 23. The second 72-hour strike will begin at noon on Wednesday September 3 and end at noon on Saturday September 6.
ACTION
The Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines are impacted by this strike. Business Continuity will continue to monitor developments and will publish an update if the strike is confirmed
RECOMMENDATION
Lines of Business should consider any potential adverse impact this potential strike may have on their associates’ availability over this period. It is recommended that the following is considered:
* All associates who have laptops should check their MAS connectivity from home between now and Wednesday, in case there is a need to use this option
* Identify all other methods of travel.
DLR services will be unaffected by the RMT Tube Lines action.
If the Jubilee line is disrupted, DLR will run supplementary bus services to help passengers affected by the disruption:
A supplementary bus service will run between Canning Town and Canary Wharf during peak periods.
The express supplementary bus service from Lewisham to North Greenwich will divert to Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich. Passengers will be directed to walk under the foot tunnel and rejoin DLR services at Island Gardens.
Any passengers travelling to/from Canary Wharf from Stratford or Canning Town during peak hours are advised to use Poplar station and walk the short distance to/from their destination.
Additional DLR staff will be available at key stations to help passengers with their journeys.
