Radiator "Heat wave"

This radiator proves that decoration and functionality do not have to be mutually exclusive. For a good heat exchange one needs a large surface area. It is exactly this which is provided the baroque-like design. Joris Laarman has succeeded in finding a style which couldn't be further pure functionalism, but results in a wonderfully funtional radiator.

Soft Lamp

With this lamp the old PVC dip technique acquires a new use. The cord practically melts into the soft lamp shade.

Red Blue Chair

A combination of two strong icons: Rietveld and Lego. A bit larger than the original though, as the Lego grid turns out to be 6% bigger than the grid used by Rietveld for his red-blue chair. 106% Rietveld shows how we can make classic products ourselves every day.

Flex Lamp

Lampshade and bulb made of the same flexible material. No harm done when you bump your head against the lamp or open the cupboard door too furiously. The light involves an energy-saver in an authentic way, the bulb itself is turned into a filament. A kitchen lamp new style!

Chair With Holes

By drilling holes in this chair it has been made lighter, both visually and physically. The greater the demands on the construction the smaller the designer made the holes. The chair almost lost a third of its weight that way.

Chest of Chair

Improvised chest, compose of 20 old drawers put into a woorden case, piled up and bound together with a belt. Remy's chest of drawers not only turns its back on superficial, elegant design, but also criticises both the excess and the consumer mania that pervades the world. The chest has no fixed form; the drawers can be combined and exchanged at will.

Milkbottle Lamp

The mile bottles hang on long cables just above the floor, always twelve at a time - three rows each of four bottles, just like the Dutch milk crate in the old days.

Pinball Machine "Lucky Cat"

A pinball machine with which nothing can be won but a bit of happiness.

Table Cloth "Tableau"

Table-cloth decorated with the shadows of a table arrangement, projected on the cloth by a photogram technique. More than merely casting a shadow of plates, dishes and glasses, the cloth tells a story and reflects the atmosphere of the dinner through shadows of what might have happened at this table.

Cow Chair

With this chair, which consists of no more and no less than a single cow hide, nature determines the ornamentation. The chair is made of an untreated cow hide, soaking wet, stretched around a form and then left to dry for a week. Then it becomes hard as stone.

Chandelier "85 Lamps"

The individual parts of this lamp are completely plain but the combination makes of them an opulent chandelier. Less and more, united in a single product.

Rag Chair

This chair came into being as a criticism of the materialism and of the flood of products in our society. Tejo Remy wanted to start again from the beginning, like Robinson Crusoe on his lonely island, living on whatever can be found.

Bench "Come A Little Bit Closer"

To sit on this bench means to slide over the marbles to the person next to you. The effect is strengthened by the sound of hundreds of marbles rolling in every direction. A special way of contacting your neighbours.

Fatlamp

Lamp with a light source that is hiden in fat. Turning the light on starts an intriguing process: you can see the structure of the fat slowly melting and becoming gradually brighter. You can feel the lamp warming up. This lamp is a typical example of slowness which was highlighted in Droog's 2004 Go Slow presentation in Milan.
