Cardiff Splott Saturday market
Cardiff's Splott market first opened in 1980 with only 50 stalls. Today the 4 acre site attracts 50,000 punters every Sunday.
Many come just to see one man: Phil Saunders, the market auctioneer who's become a legend in his own lorry. Phil's mobile stall is packed with everything from chamois leathers to golf carts - and there's an army of helpers ready to sell, sell, sell. But it's Phil who's the star of the show. Not even the stingiest shopper can resist his cheeky sales patter.

Historic Abergavenny market
Abergavenny has had a bustling market at its heart for as long as anyone can remember. But just how far back does its history go?
Historian John Davies takes a shopping trip back in time to the Medieval origins of the market. It all started when cattle were brought inside the town walls during attacks by the marauding Welsh. Nowadays, the market sells everything from cherries to fake plastic breasts and 12 of the stall holders have posed naked for a calendar. How things have changed since the old days.

Record Fair challenge
Cardiff's St David's Hall hosts a regular record fair, selling everything from rare vinyl to bargain basement CD's. It's a known hunting ground for dance music producers on the look out for classic sounds to sample and recycle into brand new tunes.
We've challenged rival music producers 'Plastic Raygun' and 'Goldie Looking Chain' to see who can make the best new tune out of old records bought at the fair. The budget's £50 and the producers are in a fighting mood.

Aberaeron Farmers market
Farmers markets are held all over Wales, giving farmers the opportunity to sell fresh produce to the locals. For the last two summers, Aberaeron Farmers Market has been pulling a crowd at its picturesque waterfront site.
Jill Pateman runs a goats cheese business and relishes the opportunity to sell her produce in Wales. She enjoys meeting the public face to face and says it boosts the local economy.
